Collaborative Practice Protocol Friday 17th September, 2010

Do you work across different service systems to support your client to live at home in the community?
Do you want more integrated and smoother transitions for your clients? Would you like to reduce the risk of duplicating assessments? Would you like your clients to receive well coordinated services?
The Collaborative Practice Protocol (CPP) has been specially designed for use in our area. The CPP is a tool that can be used to assist services who are working together to meet the needs of their clients. This session gives a brief overview of the CPP and provides a chance to practice using the CPP. Learning Outcomes include:
•Know the history of the development of the CPP
•Identify when a CPP is needed
•Practice developing a CPP
•Identify and address any issues that may arise when using a CPP

Understanding Financial Abuse of Older People Tuesday 21st September, 2010

This information session is presented by Legal Aid NSW’s Older Persons’ Legal and Education Unit.
Participants will learn about legal issues relevant to older people. This session is suitable for people who work with older people in the community.

The session will cover:
Financial abuse of older people
-How to identify ‘inheritance impatience’ & financial abuse of older people
-Know what can be done to prevent or respond to financial abuse
The importance of planning ahead
-Know the benefits of making a will, power of attorney or enduring guardian appointment
Legal referral options for older people
