Men's Intergenerational Project Officer

$34.17 per hour + super

City of Canada Bay Council has been successful in obtaining a Positive Ageing Grant from the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care to deliver an innovative Men's Intergenerational project. The successful applicant would be working 1 day per week for six months. They would be responsible for recruiting participants in a mentoring project where younger and older men would work together to develop a form of sustainable transport. This process would be recorded and would culminate in a 'race day' at a local park and an exhibition at a local library. The project aims to build ongoing opportunities for social capital within the community.

Canada Bay has a number of venues and open spaced areas that can provide an environment that is both supportive and encouraging for the results of this project. As the officer you will be back by our team who have won both national and international recognition for sustainability.

To be successful in this role you will need to have very good people, leadership and communication skills across a wide range of ages and back grounds. Can demonstrate a sound understanding of community development principles and have the ability to project manage a 6 month project and manage an event. Having a "C" class driver's licence, tertiary qualifications are not essential but would give you an advantage. Finally a sound understanding of EEO principles and a demonstrated diligence to occupational heath and safety is a must.
