The Multicultural Network

Welcome to our new Multicultural Access Project worker

Hello,

My name is Deb Helmrich and I am new to the role of Multicultural Access Project worker at The Multicultural Network (TMN) Bankstown. I work to provide any required support, resources and training to aged care service providers to enhance access to services for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. I also work with CALD communities to build their knowledge and capacity to improve their access to services available in community.

I can facilitate information sessions/talks including:

1. My Aged Care information sessions for CALD clients

a. What is My Aged Care?
b. What supports are available through My Aged Care?
c. How to access My Aged Care

2. My Aged Care information/updates for bilingual workers

This session provides information about accessing and supports available through My Aged Care and updates on aged care reforms including wellness and reablement. This workshop is for bilingual workers.

3. Understanding Wellness and Reablement approach for CALD clients

As all the aged care providers are supposed to implement wellness and reablement approach, it will be good if clients also understand:

a. What is wellness and reablement
b. How the supports are working under this approach

It will be easier to implement the Wellness & Reablement approach if the service provider and their clients both understand this.

The sessions are 30 to 45mins long and are free of charge. An interpreter will be arranged if required.

If you and your workers or clients/social groups are interested in any of these sessions, please contact Deb Helmrich on 9796 3717 or email [email protected]

I look forward to meeting you soon.

Many thanks & kind regards
Deb
