UPA-Respite Cottage and Social Group

UPA Sydney Home Care have recently launched two new programs for ageing people to keep them engaged and active members of their communities.

The first program is Connections Social Group, offering centre based activities and community outings. The centre based activities is in a tailor designed setting, with activities including:
• Art and craft
• “Men’s” shed
• Large kitchen for domestic cooking
• Pool and snooker
• Exercise Physiology
• Music
• Guest speakers
• Bingo
• And many more

Each activity can be altered to meet the needs of the participants and focusses on their individual interests and hobbies.

Weekly we take participants out into the community. Activities have previously included:
• Movies
• Local RSL Clubs
• Cherry Blossom Festival
• Picnics
• Petting Zoo’s

The second program is a Respite Cottage. It was identified that ageing people do not like the idea of residential respite, with a common fear being that they will “not go home”. In response to this, we have developed a respite cottage with a homely feel. This can be staffed in a structure that meets individual need, from drop in supports to 24-hour care.

Each of these new programs can be funded from a person’s Home Care Package, where the provider of the Package enters into an agreement with UPA Sydney Home Care. We have attached the brochures for these programs.

If you would like to book in a time to come and inspect the environments for these programs, please call the team at UPA Sydney Home Care on 8197 9306. Prices can also be explained when you call.
